What happened in McGregor in Feb 2011.........................
1. Two crashing thunder storms on Thursday 3rd Feb and Thursday 10th Feb - both DONDERdags!
The first one kicked out our electricity for about 5 hours!
14 transformers in the area were struck by lightning! Each time more than 20 mm of rain fell....not a drop since and its been extremely hot - in the 40's! Our drinking water has been brown and the Municipality say its due to the fires last January 2010 - a lot of sediment being washed down causing the filters to block and having to be washed six times a day and now they are waiting for replacement filters.
2. Debbie and Jimmy are showing sport on a big screen TV at Eseltjiesrus and people are enjoying a beer or a glass of wine there! Join them there!
3. nothing much else happened - but if it did - you didn't let us know......................

Rainbows arch across the sky
Mist and sun go swirling by
Water slides and gathers paths
As thunder rumbles in the Krans
Grass bends, branches sway
Cobwebs all are blown away
Spiders seek and crickets creep
As dreams begin to usher sleep
Silent bats begin to show
Flitting in the evening glow
Moon ascends the drifting clouds
As nightjar calls its litany sounds
An owl swoops down to hoot
A star in navy sky does shoot
The moon now sails in glory
And blissful sleep ends the story
